Building a Data-Driven Culture in Autonomous Farming

Building a Data-Driven Culture in Autonomous Farming

By Naveen Krishnaraj

Sabanto is a part of the fast-moving agricultural sector, where tradition meets technology. At the core of our mission realization is developing data-driven culture within our autonomous tractor company. Our approach enables increased efficiency and productivity for farmers while fueling innovation internally and for our customers. Let’s explore how we use the power of data to revolutionize farming.

Mapping the Road Ahead with Path Planner

One of the cornerstones of our data-driven strategy is our Path Planner technology. Based on advanced algorithms, it charts the most effective routes for tractors to follow, ensuring every single move is optimized for precision. In planning each path, we reduce fuel consumption and wear on the machinery, thus enhancing sustainability. Our Path Planner improves operational efficiency and enables users to adapt quickly to field conditions and constraints, thus providing farmers with reliable and effective solutions.

A field that has been mapped using our Path Planner technology.

Empowering Autonomous Intelligence with Computer Vision

We are changing the way farming is done with our cutting-edge computer vision. Equipped with deep learning models,  tractors outfitted with our autonomy will be capable of highly accurate object detection for a vast span of objects, including crops, obstacles, vehicles, human beings, and animals. The advanced technology allows tractors to make decisions in real-time, increasing safety and efficiency. Smooth and more productive workflows lie at the heart of perceiving and responding to the environment, ensuring an intelligent and responsive farming process. This feature is currently undergoing testing and will be available to customers through a phased rollout.

Data-Driven Processes

Making a data-driven culture shift means using data to make smarter, unbiased decisions at every level. This transparency and objectivity brings several advantages, but there are downsides as well. To address these, we present data insight with deep empathy, facilitate cultural shifts through training programs, and bring ethical practices into how our data is used to maintain trust.

Internally, data analytics enhances our engineering processes and product development, helps us observe trends, foresee events, and effect changes at a much faster rate. This translates to actionable insights for our customers, providing better farming solutions, including real-time monitoring of their operations, data-backed decisions, and better yields with sustainable practices. Equipping ourselves and our customers with the right data tools is how we envision the future of agriculture: smarter, more innovative, and more sustainable.
